SHAOLIN OPEN DAY SUMMER 2015

Welcome to our blog, where words merge with the beauty & power of Shaolin

Saturday 6th June saw the 3rd open evening event to take place at the Shaolin Temple in Cheshunt. It is difficult to know what (or who) to expect when organising such an event, but as the red gates opened our expectations were surpassed. Members of the public stood in the early evening sunshine eagerly waiting to get a glimpse of what had taken a great deal of planning to organise.
As our visitors made their way on to the red carpet, they stood under the courtyard canopies in silence, and as music began to play the Shaolin Warriors lead by 13 year old disciple and senior student, LiGe, made their way into the courtyard.
And from that moment the audience watched a performance which at every turn consisted of power, agility, strength and beauty. If you took your eye of the Warriors you were bound to miss something spectacular. From the ancient form of Ba Duan Jing to the technical sword forms, there was something for everyone.
The performance was followed by "taster" sessions in Kung Fu lead by Senior students, Muay Thai kickboxing, Wing Chun and the most adorable performance from the Dragonball class.

Two hours flew by and as the sun began to set we were rewarded with gratitude and thanks from all those who attended.
Our thanks go to everyone who supported us and travelled to the event from across the UK.
